This has been a telling new year so far. In electing President George Bush” our most inept unknowledgeable and gullible president to date ” we have begun mortgaging our future. The coming four years may be just what is needed to derail the hypocrisy and deceitfulness of the Right Wing. Just a few facts.
- Largest budget deficit in history irrespective of the 9/11 or the Iraq conflict.
- Only President to cut taxes
during a major conflict that is mostly fought by the poor and middle class while the upper classes gain both from the decrease taxes and the increase in profits from the expenditures to support the Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts.
- Substantial decrease in support for Veterans after having promised "we support the troops” during the election.
Two to Threefold increase in the new prescription drug program after lying about its true cost. This increase in cost and total price is caused by the administration’s refusal to allow negotiation for reduce drug prices given the large volumes purchased by the government. This is yet another capitulation to the drug industry. They now bilk the taxpayers at both ends. We support
their research with large grants” ” and we pay higher prices for the results of the research we paid for.
- Our decline into fascism is increasing as can be seen with the administration planting news to support their ill conceived agenda (Armstrong Williams, Jeff Gannon, Brit Hume).
- Attempt to privatize social security which is nothing more than a gift in taxpayer investment fees to WallStreet.
None of this should be surprising. If a President of limited intellect is elected” the stronger faction of his party as his puppet master will prevail. It does not matter that they know the damage they are creating as when their virtual embezzlement of our tax dollars is complete the state of the rest of the country is immaterial to them as they will be financially secure.
