Perino: No Terrorist Attacks In America Under Bush

This is a classic example why FoxNews is not a news channel and why its listeners are so easily deceived. We all know the following occurred under Bush

  • September 11th attack on the NY Towers and the Pentagon
  • Anthrax attacks
  • A few other domestic ones

Dana Perino, recently nominated by President Obama to the Broadcasting Board of Governors, made an odd claim Tuesday night.

On Fox News, the former press secretary suggested President Obama was playing politics by refusing to describe the massacre at Fort Hood as a terrorist attack. "We should call it what it is," she said.

"We did not have a terrorist attack on our country during President Bush’s term," she told Sean Hannity. "I hope they’re not looking at this politically. I do think that we owe it to the American people to call it what it is."

Ed Begley Confronts Stuart Varney on Right Wing Climate Change Lies on 2009-11-24

This is the way Liberals must handle the lies of the uneducated, ill-informed, & vociferous Right Wing. These guys do not get science or civility. They must be terminated intellectually and aggressively before their misinformation is metastasized in the psyche of their followers.

Senate Health Care Vote Saturday

Health Care OverhaulWASHINGTON — Democratic leaders secured the last two votes to move ahead on historic health care legislation, clearing the way for a Saturday night showdown on President Barack Obama’s top domestic initiative.

In long-awaited speeches, centrist Sens. Blanche Lincoln of Arkansas and Mary Landrieu of Louisiana said they would stand with their party and vote "yes" on the crucial test vote despite deep reservations with elements of the 2,074-page bill to remake the nation’s health care system.

"The truth is this issue is very complex. There is no easy fix and it’s imperative that we build on what’s already working in health care in America," Lincoln told her Senate colleagues.

Hours earlier, Landrieu had delivered her news. The two represent votes 59 and 60 for Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., who needs that many in the 100-member Senate to go forward. The Senate’s 40 Republicans are unanimously opposed.

"That was the easy part. Now it’s only going to get tougher from here on out," Reid’s spokesman Jim Manley told The Huffington Post.

"I’ve decided that there are enough significant reforms and safeguards in this bill to move forward, but much more work needs to be done," Landrieu said, with the 8 p.m. EST vote looming.

Tea Bagger Express II – Interviews of the ill-informed

I can’t help but feel sorry for these guys as they live in an alternate universe created by FoxNews, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and other Right Wing hacks. Unfortunately they relish in their ignorance. We ignore these guys at our peril. Ignorance has a way of flourishing. Hell, one became president and almost brought down the entire free world.

Dear President Obama,

News reports indicate that you plan to send between 34,000 and 40,000 more troops to Afghanistan.

We urge you to reconsider this decision.

Expanding the war in Afghanistan will make Americans less safe, not more so.

Less than 100 members of Al Qaeda remain in Afghanistan. The Karzai government we once supported is controlled by warlords and is riddled with corruption. Pakistan’s stability will be gravely imperiled by an expansion of the war. Hundreds if not thousands of troops will be killed, along with countless civilians. Anti-American sentiment throughout the Muslim world will be inflamed by civilian bloodshed, facilitating recruitment by terrorist organizations.

The war will cost billions of dollars when we can least afford it, and will stymie your domestic agenda.

The cost of sustaining a military force in Afghanistan is $1 million per soldier per year – that’s close to $100 billion dollars annually with the troop increase. With the economy in shambles, the deficits generated by these enormous costs will compromise your domestic legislative agenda both fiscally and politically.

The United States has no vital interest in Afghanistan. If you choose to further escalate troop levels in Afghanistan, you will be making the biggest mistake of your presidency.

Please reject General McChrystal’s troop requests and begin the process of exiting U.S. forces from Afghanistan.
