Oh no! What have I opened myself up to? We are moving next week and I have the longest list of things that need to get done before the move, so I have enlisted my husband’s help. I sent him to http://www.DirectStarTV.com/ to see about getting our TV service hooked up and now he is sitting on the computer drooling over all of the different channel packages that we can get! I would be fine with just regular old TV channels, but Husband always has to have the best! He is one of those shoppers that can see two products that are exactly the same but will still believe that the one that is name brand is better. I have even tricked him before by putting store brand snacks in a name brand box. He couldn’t even tell the difference! I am not really complaining though because when he buys me jewelry, I always know that it is the nicest quality because that is all he would buy! Isn’t it true that the things you love the most about someone can also annoy you?

GOP politicians are pouncing on the March employment numbers to attack the President — hoping no one notices that it’s their own policies to lay off Americans that are keeping the unemployment rate far worse than it should be.

They fought to fire more than half a million of our firefighters, teachers, and nurses, tried to lay off millions more, and now they’re pushing a budget plan that could kill 4 million more jobs. More Americans are still pounding the pavement looking for work because Republican politicians cut their jobs instead of cutting tax giveaways for the richest 1%.

We have a long way to go before our economy’s fully recovered. Americans shouldn’t have to keep fighting the GOP to get there.

ATTACKS AND RESPONSES

RESPONSE:

• We have a long way to go before our economy’s fully recovered. Americans shouldn’t have to keep fighting the GOP to get there.
• Look no further than the latest Republican budget — it’d throw more Americans out of work, take money out of the pockets of struggling families, and take away Obamacare from our small businesses.
• We’d have even lower unemployment if Republicans hadn’t kept pushing to lay off more than half a million of our firefighters, teachers, and nurses and blocking Obama’s proposal to put Americans back to work fixing our roads and bridges.

ATTACK: "The jobs report shows Washington needs to part of the solution instead of the problem."
RESPONSE:

• The problem is that we need leaders who are committed to creating good jobs more than they want the President to fail.
• How are we better off giving up on the investments that make America competitive in the world, letting the roads and bridges that our businesses rely on crumble, and gutting our kids’ education? That’s the Republican plan to put America on the "Path to Poverty."
• America is the greatest country on earth, but we need our leaders to work with us to keep it that way. Instead Republican politicians are refusing to do their jobs and put Americans back to work.

ATTACK: "The jobs report shows Obamanomics is leaving women behind."
RESPONSE:

• Actually, it’s the Republican effort to lay off Americans that leave women behind because the workers who keep our country running are more likely to be women.
• Republican politicians have some nerve talking about supporting women when they’re pushing a budget that will undermine their economic security at every stage of their life, throw them and their families off their health insurance, and let their parents go bankrupt by ending Medicare.
• Whether you’re a man or a woman, we all need an economy that works for everyone and gives everyone a fair shot. That’s what Obama’s working to achieve.                             

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

• Despite Republican efforts to sabotage the recovery, our economy has created private sector jobs for 25 months in a row, bringing the total to 4 million private sector jobs added in the last two years.
• The GOP budget that House Republicans just passed could wipe out all those jobs gains, costing our economy over 4 million jobs in the next two years alone.
• Last year alone, Washington Republicans tried to kill over 7 million jobs.
• At the state and local level, the Republican leadership at 12 states are responsible for most of the massive public sector layoffs that are dragging down our national economic recovery.
• If Republican politicians hadn’t pushed so hard to lay off our teachers, cops, and firefighters and block efforts to put Americans back to work fixing our roads and bridges, the unemployment rate could be down to 6% — 2 points lower than it is now.
• In fact, if public sector employment had grown since the official start of the recovery by the average amount it grew in the three previous recoveries, we’d have nearly 2 more million jobs today.

Half of Americans believe that Republicans are intentionally stalling efforts to jumpstart the economy to ensure President Obama isn’t re-elected. Even Republican politicians admit the Republican party is more interested in just defeating Barack Obama than they are in rebuilding America.

Mitt Romney Job Creation is tantamount to smoke and mirrors. Contrary to what is reported by the supposed Liberal media, President Obama has cut taxes for all Americans. Listening to the news one would never get that.

"Path to Poverty" For America

This week, Republicans in Congress are back in their home districts desperately trying to convince their constituents that voting to disinvest in America to pay for more millionaire tax giveaways is really putting our country on the so-called "Path to Prosperity."

The Republican budget puts America on a Path to Poverty.

We need to rebuild the middle class, not shrink it one American family at a time. The Romney-Ryan budget would end Medicare as we know it and gut investments in our kids so oil company CEOs and their hedge fund managers can get more tax giveaways.

It would kill millions of American jobs and give up on the investments that make America competitive in the world — all the while digging us deeper in debt with wasteful tax handouts. The GOP plan is a great strategy to bring in more checks from their corporate campaign donors, but it’s a Path to Poverty for America – and Americans want no part of it.

We tried their trickle-down economics before and all we got to show for it are massive deficits and a shrinking middle class. Our economy does better when everyone pays their fair share, when everyone gets a fair shot, and when everyone plays by the same rules.

"The House GOP budget is courageous."

RESPONSE

• Letting seniors go bankrupt and taking food away from vulnerable children to avoid asking your wealthy campaign donors to pay their fair share — that’s cowardly.
• Courage is standing up to the wealthy and powerful special interests funding their campaigns — but Washington Republicans won’t do it. They actually want more giveaways for the 1%.
• Do we really want America led by politicians who’ll show courage only when their corporate campaign donors give them permission?

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

• The GOP budget would actually make the debt worse by providing $3 trillion in corporate and millionaire tax giveaways, with an average of $150K for the richest 1%.
• At the same time, the GOP budget would end Medicare as we know it, take away Obamacare, throw millions of Americans off their health insurance, and cut more than $3 trillion from programs that vulnerable families rely on.
• A recent poll shows 70% of Americans oppose cuts in federal education aid, but the GOP plan would deeply cut education at all levels: Head Start, K-12, and college.
• Like the latest budget plan from Republicans in Congress, Mitt Romney’s $11 trillion tax plan would overwhelmingly go to a tiny number of the wealthiest few — including himself — while cutting the Social Security and Medicare that Americans invest in all their working lives.
• 70% of Americans, including the majority of Republicans, want to keep Medicare as it is today, instead of replacing it with coupons as the House GOP and Mitt Romney have proposed.
• Three-fourths of Americans, including nearly 70% of Republicans, support the Buffett Rule. And America does better when the wealthiest Americans pay their fair share.

In the last six years, Republicans got 7 out of 10 Congressional campaign dollars spent by corporations that benefit the most from tax loopholes passed by those politicians.
